Which bear cakes can I order in Toronto?

Three, each with a different mood, all as fresh cream cakes that come in 6, 8 and 10 inch. Descriptions below come from the product pages.

Happy Bear Day is the gentlest. Its page describes a tiny bear figure, pastel lettering and sky blue, which turns the birthday table into a cheerful little scene.

Chocolate Bear Bliss is the deeper one. Its page describes a little bear that brings playful charm, deep-brown tones and lively details to the party. It is the only one of the three with an Express version for same-day.

Polar Bear is the white one. Its page describes it as snow white with playful paws, bringing storybook winter charm to the birthday table. It is priced higher than the other two.

All three are Lightly Sweet: made with cane sugar, less sweet than a typical supermarket cake, with a Japanese chiffon base and real dairy fresh cream outside.

How much does a bear cake cost?

From $86.95 at 6 inch for Happy Bear Day, $88.95 for Chocolate Bear Bliss and $124.95 for Polar Bear, as pre-order prices.

Prices show as "from" because the final total depends on your choices, and the cart shows the exact amount. They are pre-order prices on the website. Polar Bear starts higher, from $124.95 at 6 inch; if price decides it, Happy Bear Day is the lowest of the three at $86.95. The character cake guide shows how the bears sit among the other designs.

What size bear cake do I need?

Choose by guest count and by how thin you will slice. A 6 inch serves 6 to 8 normal dessert slices, an 8 inch serves 12 to 14, and a 10 inch serves 18 to 22.

A coffee slice is less than half of a normal slice. These numbers are a guide, so if you are unsure, go one size up, because leftovers keep well in the fridge overnight.

Can I get a bear cake today or tomorrow?

Only Chocolate Bear Bliss can. It has an Express version for same-day, so order by 2:30 PM Monday to Saturday for delivery that evening between 5:30 and 10:30 PM, or by 4:00 PM for same-day pickup at the kitchen in Markham. Sunday does not take same-day orders, only pre-orders.

Happy Bear Day and Polar Bear are pre-order only. Pre-orders start from the day after tomorrow and run up to 180 days ahead, and they cost less than Express, which is why booking early is the better deal. Each day takes a limited number of orders, so popular dates fill up. A same-day cake and a pre-order cake go in separate orders, because one order has one date. The Express collection shows what is open today.

Can a bear cake be eggless?

Yes, all three offer a Make it eggless option for +$5. It covers the main cake and its cream only, so decorations and add-ons may still contain egg, and the kitchen works with egg every day: it handles milk, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts and tree nuts every day. Eggless cannot be combined with 0 Sugar Added or Keto, because the eggless recipe contains sugar and flour.

What flavours can a bear cake be?

Happy Bear Day and Polar Bear let you choose a flavour on the product page, with options such as Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Tiramisu, Coconut Latte, Soya Milk, Mango Oolong, Rose Lychee, Black Sesame, Matcha, Milk Tea, Chocolate, Strawberry and Strawberry Brulee. Chocolate Bear Bliss does not list a flavour choice, so read its page.

The bear stays the same whichever flavour you choose.

How do I carry and serve a bear cake?

Keep the box flat on the floor of the car or in the trunk, never on a seat or your lap, and drive gently. Put it in the fridge in its box within an hour of arrival, do not freeze it, and serve it straight from the fridge. It should be out at room temperature for no more than 2 hours in total, or 1 hour on a hot day.

Take decorations off before cutting and keep small parts away from young children.
