Founded in 2016, The Place began as a humble bakery in Toronto’s historic St. Lawrence Market Community. Our mission was simple: to bring high-quality, freshly made cakes to the heart of downtown Toronto. From day one, we focused on using only the finest ingredients, ensuring that every cake delivered pure, natural flavors without additives or preservatives. Our commitment to quality quickly earned us a loyal following, serving both individual customers and corporate clients across the city.

Like many businesses, we faced significant challenges during the Covid-19. The landscape of the food industry changed, and we, too, had to evolve. In response, we underwent a transformation—introducing a new management team and redefining our brand while staying true to our core values. This transition marked the rebirth of The Place, distancing us from the past and setting a new standard for excellence.

Today, The Place operates as a dedicated workshop, allowing us to focus exclusively on crafting exceptional cakes made fresh to order. Unlike traditional bakeries, our cakes are never displayed on shelves or stored for extended periods. By eliminating retail stock, we ensure that every cake reaches our customers at its absolute best—fresh, full of flavor, and made with care. This workshop approach allows us to maintain the highest standards of freshness and quality, ensuring that our customers receive only the finest cakes, untouched by unnecessary handling or prolonged storage.
