Fresh Cream Cakes — the Real Cream Difference

This is the cake The Place is known for: airy layers under 100% real dairy fresh cream, whipped and hand-finished the day your cake goes out. Lighter than buttercream, cleaner than plant-based whip — cream that tastes like cream, in designs for birthdays, anniversaries and every day in between.

Fresh cream vs. the rest

Fresh cream, buttercream, plant-based whip — the difference you can taste

Buttercream is butter and sugar — rich, sweet, and heavy on purpose. Plant-based whipped topping holds its shape for days because it isn't really cream. Real dairy fresh cream is neither: it's light, barely sweet, and it melts the moment it touches your tongue. That's why our whole signature line is built on it — whipped in small batches and piped the same day your cake is finished, because that's the only way real cream works.

Light, not heavy

Fresh cream is mostly air and dairy — you can finish a slice and want another. No buttery coating, no heavy sweetness.

Whipped the same day

The cream is whipped and piped during your cake's finishing run — that's what freshly prepared means here.

Never plant-based

100% animal dairy cream on every cake in this line. If a cake uses anything else, it doesn't belong on this page.

Fresh cream questions, answered

What is a fresh cream cake?

A cake finished with real whipped dairy cream instead of buttercream or plant-based topping — light, airy layers with cream that's whipped fresh the day the cake goes out. It's the style our bakery is built around.

What's the difference between fresh cream and buttercream?

Buttercream is butter and sugar — rich, sweet and firm. Fresh cream is whipped real dairy — lighter, much less sweet, and it melts in your mouth rather than coating it. If you find typical cakes too sweet or too heavy, fresh cream is usually the answer.

Is your whipped cream real dairy?

Yes — 100% animal dairy fresh cream on every cake in this line, whipped fresh in small batches. We don't use plant-based whipped topping.

Do fresh cream cakes need to be refrigerated?

Yes — real dairy cream belongs in the fridge. Refrigerate your cake as soon as it arrives and take it out shortly before serving.

Can I get a fresh cream cake delivered today?

Yes — cakes marked Same-day can be ordered by 2:30 PM (ET) for delivery the same evening across most of the GTA, Monday to Saturday.
